Globalisation and digitalisation marked the architecture of the late 20th and early 21st century. The appearance of the latest technologies and media led to the development changes of contemporary facade conception in the field of architecture. The influence of technology on urban and architectural models is manifested by digitalisation and virtual dimension of urban surroundings having its physical nature within media architecture and dynamic images of facade media.
Media façade, being a new architectural topic, represents the integration of architecture, technology and virtual image. Computer-controlled artificial light sources and/or kinetic systems result in medialization and often interactive images integrated in building façade. Color, sound and movement are some of the possibilities meant for presenting images (dynamic lightening, text, video), aimed at providing beholders with specific content (art, culture, branding, information, political message, entertainment, etc.).
